Capital Campaign for a New Altrusa Hospitality House

Keeping Families Together When It Matters Most

About Us

Since 1989, Altrusa Hospitality House has given families a place to stay in Green Bay while someone they love receives medical care. We provide a home away from home for families who travel to Green Bay for medical care, and for patients during treatment or after discharge.  This restorative environment is offered at low cost or no cost to guests who meet eligibility criteria

Comfort. Kindness. Community.

Demand Has Outgrown the House

Specialty care continues to concentrate in Green Bay, where hospitals now serve an area far larger than Brown County; more patients travel here for treatment than ever before. Somewhere to stay is one of the non-medical barriers that decides whether a family can be present through treatment, which is why lodging is part of Brown County’s Pathways to Healthcare work. Requests for a room keep climbing, and Altrusa Hospitality House has operated with the same twelve rooms since 2001, last year, turning away more families than were served.

The Plan

A new 47-room home on a new site will join the original house to bring Altrusa Hospitality House to 59 rooms near the hospitals.

Having had four surgeries in the past seven months, Altrusa House has saved us a lot of overnight costs. There was only one time when we could not stay during surgery. Guess they were full.

My husband had open heart surgery, and if it weren’t for the Altrusa Hospitality House, I wouldn’t have been able to stay in Green Bay and be with him.
